NAME

run-with-aspell - A script to help use aspell as an ispell replacement

SYNOPSIS

run-with-aspell <command>

DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents briefly the run-with-aspell interactive spell checker. This manual page was written for the Debian GNU/Linux distribution because the original program does not have a manual page. Instead, it has documentation in HTML and text formats; see below.

The recommended way to use aspell as a replacement for ispell is to change the ispell command from within the program being used. If that is not possible, the run-with-aspell script can be used.

OPTIONS

<command>
is the name of the program with any optional arguments.

The old method of mapping ispell to aspell is discouraged because it can create compatibilty problems with programs that actually require ispell such as ispell's own scripts.

SEE ALSO

aspell(1), word-list-compress(1).

run-with-aspell is fully documented in aspell-doc package. Install that package and see /usr/share/doc/aspell-doc/man-html and /usr/share/doc/aspell-doc/man-text.
