Here are some notes about problems which may be encountered when converting
Glade to using generic code, i.e. using the GTK Arg mechanism to get & set
all widget properties.

gtk_type_new():
	some widgets do not return a valid widget, which usually results
	in Glade crashing. (These are the widgets you normally have to
	pass arguments to when creating with _new().

GtkDialog:
	How to edit the vbox & action_area, and to output code which
	adds widgets to them but doesn't create them.

GtkFileSelection & GtkColorSelectionDialog:
	We need to add signal handlers to the OK/Cancel/Help buttons.
	Sometimes other buttons and widgets are also added to the dialogs -
	can we handle that?

GtkNotebook:
	The popup menu items & tab labels of the pages.

GtkImage:
	Can't change the image type & visual after creation.
	Also the args to create an image are dynamic - often the result
	of function calls, e.g. gtk_visual_best_with_depth (xx)

GtkPixmap:
	Need to pass gdkpixmap and gdkbitmap mask to create the pixmap,
	so this is awkward to do with Args.


Properties which can only be set when a widget is created or before it is
realized:
e.g. window - wmclass, wmname
     image - type & visual (mentioned above)
     clist/ctree - number of columns


GtkToolbar:
	The normal toolbar buttons are treated specially - need to create a
	GtkToolbarItem class so we can differentiate these toolbar buttons
	with button widgets.

GtkPaned:
	Need to be able to get/set the position of the widget, so we can
	replace a widget if it is added/deleted. (Also look at
	gb_widget_replace_child() in gbwidget.c to check it can all be
	done generically)


Drawing the box representing selected widget(s):
	Viewport currently has special code in editor.c - paint_widget()

	gbclist.c has code to redraw the edges of the clist when it is
	scolled, otherwise the selection handles mess the display up.

	GnomeCanvas paints itself in an idle function, so we have to do the
	same or it will paint over the selection.


Underlined accelerator keys:
	When setting focus to a widget, sometimes we have to set focus to
	the child of a widget, e.g. if we want to set the focus to a GtkCombo
	we actually have to set the focus to the combo's entry.
	It would be better if the combo handled this itself.

GtkFixed & GtkLayout:
	Can the child's position and size be set OK via the standard widget
	x & y Args? - for a child of a fixed you need to use gtk_fixed_move
	since the fixed	remembers the positions of all children.

	In a layout, you need to be careful because the allocation.x & y are
	relative to the window origin, not to the origin of the entire layout,
	i.e. when the layout is scrolled, the allocations change and may even
	be negative.


GtkTooltips:
	Tooltips use enter/leave notify events so they only work for widgets
	which have X windows. I've been using GTK_WIDGET_NO_WINDOW() to test
	for this. However GtkRadioButton/GtkCheckButton don't normally have a
	normal X window, but they do have an InputOnly window and tooltips
	still work. So I had to add a special case to support these.
