pspell for Debian ----------------- pspell is the new portable spell checking interface library. pspell is packaged into two separate packages for Debian. The libpspellX package (which will contain the dynamic libraries etc.) and the libpspell-dev package (which will contain the static libraries and the documentation that comes with the upstream pspell source). These will replace the libaspell and libaspell-dev packages in Debian. -- Sudhakar Chandrasekharan , Fri, 5 Jan 2001 Notes for C users of libpspell-dev ---------------------------------- Due to a bug in libtool, C programs willing to link against libpspell fail the link phase. Problem has been worked-around in pspell 0.12.2-4. Debian maintainers of that software have to use libpspell-dev (>= 0.12.2-5) in Build-Depends. This is needed because the 0.12.2-4 not fixed shlibs file resulted in a mostly broken dependency for the just built package. Indeed the software accepted to be installed with older libpspell packages that could be not linked against libstdc++!! New shlibs installed starting from 0.12.2-5 ensure that software will require at least 0.12.2-5. -- Domenico Andreoli , Wed, 6 Feb 2002
