`RECURSIVE' Keyword

   `g77' doesn't support the `RECURSIVE' keyword that F90 compilers do.
Nor does it provide any means for compiling procedures designed to do
recursion.

   All recursive code can be rewritten to not use recursion, but the
result is not pretty.
