   `\roman{counter}'

   This command causes the value of the `counter' to be printed in
Roman numerals.  The `\roman' command uses lower case Roman numerals,
i.e., `i, ii, iii...', while the `\Roman' command uses upper case Roman
numerals, i.e., `I, II, III...'.
