Whole document tree 4.2.2 Status Information and Debugging The parser normally outputs errors and progress status to your terminal, but by using the -q, --quiet, -v, -V or --verbosity option you can change this. The -V (and --verbosity) takes an argument, 0 silent, except for errors. 1 progress status (default), will list the page currently being plucked as well as some output from the image converters. 2 produces a lot of output about the gathering and parsing process, used for debugging. The -v option sets verbosity level 1, while -q and --quiet set verbosity level 0.
